Introducing my new idea - edible illustrations! This is my No-me Favourite Things cake. It's a hand drawn, digitally coloured drawing printed on edible icing to make the most amazing bespoke cake!
Why not get an edible version of your commissioned illustration to go with the print on the wall? It's absolutely perfect for parties! You can make a cake out of any of my illustrations and it comes in lots of different sizes. From cup cakes to circular or rectangular cakes. No-me illustrations can be printed on various edible icing sizes which will fit any nearly any cake.
It's such a fun idea and completely bespoke.
The cake was made by Cakes by Jennifer Dalcie
I've started creating some new no-me illustration designs which blend typographical lettering with tiny hand drawn illustrations. These illustrations are perfect to show in your home and also work really well in children's rooms. I love the soft, subtle illustrations which contrast to the heavy black lettering behind it. All the illustrations are inspired by various poems, films or sayings.
You can find them on my etsy page here They come in A4 size.
I came across these fabulous pencils on etsy by Amanda Catherine Designs. I absolutely love them! I must have the favourite things ones! They are going to be absolutely perfect to keep me smiling as I draw!
Amanda also produces pretty posters which combine inspirational sayings with whimsical patterns with eye catching colours for a unique design that is perfect anywhere.

I have been wanting to go to Sweden ever since my mum came back from there on a Quilting trip and I loved all her photos. It looked such an amazing place. Strangely familiar and completely different all at the same time. The thing that struck me most about her photographs was the use of fabric, wood and colour in their lives. So in April 2013 we went flew to Stockholm, then got the train up to Rättvik which is three hours up north from Stockholm. Rättvik and the town close by which is called Vikarbyn are the most beautiful places. With extreme natural beauty and wonderfully friendly people, I completely felt at home. Our B&B in Vikarbyn was set on a hill with stunning views over the lake which was thawing at the time. To see where we stayed and maybe stay there yourself, click here.
I was very interested in seeing their houses and the contrast with the buildings in the countryside compared to the city. The differences were vast. In the countryside all the houses where constructed from local trees - pine or silver birch and in the city, they were brick. However the similarities were that they all were painted very beautiful earthy colours. I absolutely loved the colours they used.
I found this trip perfect for inspiration and have some prints of my illustrations on my etsy page. I loved all the buildings so much and wanted to convey all the shapes and size of the buildings as well as all the colours within my illustration.
I loved seeing the Swedish Dala horses. I had no idea that each town has it's own painted design which represents each town. We went to a tiny place in the middle of nowhere where they sold dala horses that they hand painted. It was so lovely and I couldn't resist buy two to go with the one I have at home.
Spring is finally here, maybe not judging by the current cold spell but
it still technically is! This hand drawn and digitally coloured embraces
all that is colourful and and lovely about springtime. I can't wait for the clocks to also change. Only a week to go!

Our Red Phone boxes are so recognisably British. However now everyone
has mobile phones, are our phone boxes a thing of the past? This is a
hand drawn and digitally coloured print.

I've been asked what someone should get as a gift for their friend's wedding later in the year. Something personal to them is always the best option and if it reflects who they are and their what their personalities are like then that is your best bet!
See below some of my work which make the most perfect wedding gifts. I can create bespoke comic style Adventure illustrations which tell the story of how the couple met, got engaged, right up to their wedding day. It's always fun to add a "to be continued" too should their family grow!
Maps are also a fantastic idea for a wedding gift as you can have illustrated where they currently live, where the wedding is going to take place and even (if there is enough space!) where they plan to go on their honeymoon. It's so personal and they will absolutely love the thought and detail of your gift.
Something that is really lovely for a wedding present is an illustration of the couple in front of their house or possibly where they got engaged. Home and other places of sentimental value mean so much to us and to have these places illustrated as a bespoke print will certainly make a fabulous gift.

The wedding was a fabulous seaside venue located on the Isle of Wight and had lovely personal touches relevant to being by the sea, like giant deckchairs and sticks of rock. They even had a bicycle made for two!
Photography was by the very talented Chris Cowley Photography
So the snow has narrowly avoided Christmas, however it's only been a little sprinkling this time. I wonder if we will get anymore? I was hoping for an early Spring if I'm honest. Bring on the daffodils!
We spent Christmas day at West Wittering this year. I love how the beach still looks beautiful even in the winter!
We had our family christmas a little bit early this year and my family know me well. Pens and sketchbooks. Can't wait to get started on some personal illustrations over the holidays.
Lately I've been doing a little more personal work and it's been really fun. This is one drawing i was doing of my vintage kitchen cabinet at home.
I love my birthday gifts from my siblings. Can you believe my brother made the house shaped display?! He is so talented. I love it!
This weekend the clocks changed in the UK. Glad we get an extra hour in bed but sometimes i wish we kept to summer time all year round and have the slightly lighter evenings.
I decided to make some Halloween inspired cup cakes. These ones were chocolate orange and so yummy!
I really need to get on with some more commissions today. Work is very busy at the moment. Everyone is thinking about bespoke bridesmaid gifts for 2013 weddings.

Just some of the things I seem to be carrying around a lot at the moment. Ipad for work and play. Glasses, I get dizzy without them. Topshop make up. I really love this and the packaging too. My Cath Kidson purse, which i bought in a cool shop in Ryde, Isle of Wight. Headphones to listen to music. Listening to the newest Rufio album and sweets from Candies in West Wittering Village.
I bought the cats a game for the ipad today. Seems to have gone down quite well!
I got up early today and made some lemon cupcakes with washi tape toppers and lilac strawberry cupcakes with kitty cat toppers. I think they came out really well!
I decided to make some Strawberry Cupcakes with little MT washi tape flags. They tasted as good as they looked!
For the bank holiday weekend, we went down to East Wittering. We spent some time with Matt's nieces and nephew and showed them the campervan. We had really nice weather. Unusual for an english bank holiday!
Today I went to the new Office shop in Basingstoke. My friend Laura wanted to buy some new converse. Whilst I was in there I took a photo of the super cute kids converse. I love all the colours!
I harvested the poppy seeds today, I used to do this when I was little. I think I will scatter the seeds randomly around where I live and see if they grow!
I made some homemade lemonade for the first time. It was so yummy! Three bags of lemons, juiced in a Magimix then added to sugar, ice and water. We didn't have a recipe, we just tasted it and decided when it was drinkable!
Today I decided to do some baking, I made cup cakes with pink icing and bunny heads with raspberry and chocolate chips. Both were a success! Turns out no-me can bake!
Today I received my ceramic teapot lamp and my black and white rug. I absolutely love them both! Very happy!
I love it at the Witterings and at the beach generally. Had a 99 Mr Whippy ice cream of course. We went to a few of the charity shops and I bought two vintage pillowcases and two awesome glasses.
I decided to cover my apple keyboard in MT washi tape. I didn't take as long as you might have thought. I love it and think it looks far prettier now!
